Ramon Fuentes 155 lbs lost to Joe Miceli 149 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Unranked Joe Miceli of New York smashed out a wild, unanimous 10-round decision over favored Ramon Fuentes last night after he knocked the Los Angeles fighter down three times and had him on the verge of a kayo late in the fight. Miceli used his vaunted left hook to advantage as he decked Fuentes for an eight count in the 2nd round. Miceli, outweighed 149 to 154 1/2, suffered a cut under his right eye from a left hook in the 5th round and appeared to be tiring after building up a big lead. But just when Fuentes seemed to be taking control, Miceli decked him with a solid left hook to the head in the 7th that had him on the canvas for a count of nine and left him glassy-eyed. As soon as Fuentes got up, he was dropped again with a combination left hook and right to the jaw. After the third knockdown of the fight, Miceli backed Fuentes into a corner and pounded him with a barrage of blows, but lacked the steam to put him away." -United Press
