The Italian-born Uvanni moved to the USA in 1890, settling in Rome, NY. Owned and operated a saloon in Rome, NY. Was arrested for arson in 1909 for allegedly attempting to burn down the saloon. Married Mazzie Tanner in Canada in 1915. After retiring from boxing, he owned and operated a restaurant for many years. Died and was buried in Utica, NY.
