  • According to El Paso police, on Christmas Eve 2014 in El Paso, Texas, boxer Joel Garcia, 24, was arrested on three counts of intoxication manslaughter after driving while intoxicated and running a red light, crashing his car into a 2004 Pontiac and killing three individuals. Garcia and his passenger were treated for minor injuries. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 60 years imprisoment if found guilty on all three counts. Garcia was remanded in lieu of $300,000 bond to the El Paso Texas County Jail. No trial date was set.
