"Joey Archer of New York took a long step toward a shot at the middleweight crown Saturday night by scoring an impressive unanimous 10 round decision over junior middleweight champion Denny Moyer in their non-title fight at MSG. Archer used repeated left jabs and left hooks - backed by straight rights - to whip the 154 pound champion from Portland, Ore., in their nationally televised fight. Joey took every advantage of his height and longer reach and at long range where Denny lacked effectiveness with his speedy punches.
