"Joey Giambra of Buffalo, NY, won a 10 round battle with Ralph (Tiger) Jones Tuesday night, decking the durable Jones twice in the process. In a scrap that had a crowd of 1,949 roaring most of the way, Giambra used his left hook in series to knock Jones down for the mandatory eight-count in the 2nd round and again in the 5th. Despite the knockdowns, Giambra couldn't put Jones, St. Albans, NY, away. The Tiger came back after both knockdowns to win rounds despite his own failure to mount a serious attack." -Associated Press
