"Joey Giambra whipped Ralph (Tiger) Jones but you wouldn't know it today from looking at them. Giambra scored a unanimous decision Monday night in the 10 round tussle with Jones, the NY middleweight. Jones was virtually unmarked today. But Giambra sported a beauty of a right eye. It was swollen nearly closed. There were vivid red marks around both eyes, and Monday night when he climbed through the ropes after 30 minutes of Jones' punishing body blows, his left side looked like raw hamburger." -United Press International
