- Orbillo once sparred Bruce Lee. Lee was the privately hired coach of world semi contact karate and full contact kickboxing champion Joe Lewis. Lewis who trained in boxing would spar with Orbillo and on more than one occasion brought Lee to train with him in the boxing gym. Orbillo said that on seeing Lee work the heavy bag that Bruce could’ve been lightweight champ of the world if he boxed for 6 months. Orbillo later sparred the much smaller but quicker Lee and said he was unable to lay a glove on him. Orbillo would go on to study under one of Bruce Lee’s students, Richard Bustillo who would later train Olympic medalist and professional world champion Brian Viloria.
