Joey Rosenberg was a cousin of bantamweight world champ Charley Phil Rosenberg. According to a column by Braven Dyer in the LA Times, Rosenberg won the 1934 Pacific Coast Intercollegiate flyweight title. Rosenberg also boxed collegially at the University of California, Davis. Rosenberg had hand trouble off and on throughout his career which eventually led to his retirement. Won the Orient Flyweight Title in 1938 for his most important professional victory.
