Hefey, champion Sullivan's third challenger on the "Grand Tour" of the country offering money for locals to enter the ring with him, was one of the few challengers comparable in size to Sullivan. A railroad engineer, he stood six feet, one inch tall and weighed 195 pounds. He nonetheless was floored three times in thirty seconds and called it quits.
