- Date: 1967-01-16

- Referee: Ike Powell
"John McCluskey, Hamilton, Scotland, 111 1/2, became the British flyweight champion when he knocked out Tony Barlow of Manchester, 109 1/2, in the 8th round. McCluskey, former amateur champion, thus becomes the British champion after eight professional contests. In the 8th, a right caught Barlow flush on the chin, that felled the latter and when his head hit the canvas, there was no chance of his beating the count." -Ring Magazine, April 1967 issue
- This was for the vacant title which champion Walter McGowan was forced to vacate after winning the British bantamweight crown from Alan Rudkin. BBB of C rules state that no boxer is allowed to hold two titles at the same time.
