Biography

Poore knocked out his first 16 opponents since leaving the Toughman competition for professional boxing in the summer of 2000, before being stopped by Robert Hawkins. A former squid processor off the Cape May (NJ) coast, Poore currently works the night shift as a machinist for Southco, of Concordville, PA. He is a graduate of Chichester High School.

Poore's 2002 slug fest with fellow unbeaten prospect Jason Jenkins (a former University football player) was a runner-up in RING Magazine for producing one of the best rounds of the year.

In the first round Jenkins, weighing close to 270 pounds, pounded Poore unmercifully against the ropes. Just when things looked bleak for Poore, he came back with a short right hand that rocked Jenkins.

Poore poured it on, slugging with the much bigger man and dropped Jenkins twice to close out the action packed round. In the second round Poore sealed the deal and stopped Jenkins.
