John Simpson 125 lbs beat Paul Truscott 125 lbs by TKO at 1:34 in round 10 of 12

  • Commonwealth (British Empire) Featherweight Title (1st defense of Simpson)

Notes

  • Rematch of the January 2009 fight which was stopped by the ringside doctor in the 8th round as a result of a cut near the right eye of Truscott. The stoppage was somewhat controversial as replays appeared to show that the cut was caused by an accidental clash of heads.
  • During the middle rounds of the fight, Truscott was cut to the right eyebrow and the left eyelid. These cuts caused Truscott's face to be a bloody mask for the rest of the fight.
  • Starting in round eight, Truscott’s conditions turned worse, when he had his nose bleeding as well.
  • Truscott was given a standing eight-count in round 9.
  • The referee had finally seen enough in round 10 and called a halt to the fight.
