John Wille vs. Marvin Hart (4th meeting)
John Willie beat Marvin Hart by NWS in round 6 of 6
- Date: 1908-11-14
- Location: National A.C., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Notes
"Wille had everything his own way in the fifth round, when Hart, stung to desperation from the jeers of the crowd, sailed into Willie in hurricane fashion and with a wild right swing sent the Chicago boy to the floor. Wille, however, was up quickly and managed to stay out the round by clinching. He made an even break of the sixth round. But in the four preceding rounds Willie was master of every one. He sent Hart to the floor three times in the second round, and only the timely interference of the bell saved the Louisville heavyweight from being counted out. Hart was fat, looking as if a day's training had been an unheard-of thing in his repertoire." Boston Globe Also, both the Philadelphia Item and the Philadelphia Record gave the newspaper decision to Wille.
