Johnny DeJohn's brothers Carmen, Ralph, Joey, and Mike were also professional boxers -- and all main event attractions in Syracuse, New York from the late 1930s through the early 1960s. (Thomas DeJohn, the last-surviving brother, was an amateur boxer.) Their real family name was Di Gianni. Johnny was the eldest brother.
Johnny DeJohn managed and trained his brothers Joey and Mike. The best-known fighter he handled was Carmen Basilio. During the 1960s, he managed and trained Welterweight contender Dick DiVeronica of Canastota, NY.
