“The turnout was not a record, but the gate was—for little fellows. Only two heavyweight fights have drawn more money into the Garden.
The fight itself started at a bristling pace, and for the first six rounds promised to justify the high price of $20 for a ringside seat. Through the last four rounds, however, the gladiators frequently were urged to more strenuous efforts by the spectators. Not much action was forthcoming.
There were no knockdowns, but there were hard wallops. The hardest of these was delivered in the third round by Greco, who drove his right hand almost to the wrist into Jack's midsection.”
