Johnny Prescott 196 lbs beat Pauli Kraus 200 lbs by KO in round 3 of 10

Unbeaten British heavyweight prospect Johnny Prescott of Birmingham was put to test against the dangerous and eccentric German Pauli "Bomber" Kraus. Kraus, with a record of nine KO wins, four losses (three before full time) and two draws, lived up to his alias of "Bomber" as he swung wildly against the more classic boxing Prescott.

For the two first rounds Prescott shook Kraus with crisp combinations, but was forced to step back as the Bomber stormed forward. By the third round Kraus had lost much of his steam, but he managed one last blow to Prescott's head before he was chased across the ring with left jabs and finally dropped with a right cross. Kraus was counted out on his knees.

The fight took place in Smethwick, six days after Prescott had outpointed the German Ulli Ritter in Leicester.
