German middle Hans Meller had one win behind him when he went to Norway to test local Johnny Romsaas. In the 2nd the visitor dropped Romsaas for an 8 count. Romsaas went back to work with solid body punches before he dropped the German for the full count with a left right combination to the head.
The young and ambitious Romsaas admitted afterwards that the knockdown was quite a shock, and blamed it on his non-chalant keeping of the guard.
