  • Date: 1964-11-13
  • Location: Nordstrandhallen, Oslo, Norway
  • Norwegian middleweight Johnny Romsaas (24) made his pro debut by outpointing Michel Blinker of Suriname/Netherlands over 6 rounds. This was the third time Blinker appeared in a Norwegian ring. Both men weighted 75 kg. Romsaas ducked under Blinker's long arms and fought to the body. Blinker clutched and held. This went on for a long time. Both men received warnings, Blinker for holdning, Romsaas for diving in with his head first. In the last round the Oslo crowd got glimpses of the left- right combinations, which had made Romsaas a favorite in his amateur days. Stinging rights made Blinker reel backwards.
