"Johnny Summerlin, 191, of Detroit scored a 5th-round TKO over Wayne Womochil, 186, of Omaha in their scheduled 10-rounder. Summerlin unleashed a blistering body attack in the first four rounds, slowing Womochil considerably. He then connected with a series of vicious rights and lefts to the head in the 5th when referee Tom Briscoe stepped in and stopped the fight. Summerlin hadn't fought since he dropped a decision to Eddie Machen in December of '56." -United Press
