Johnny "Carnation" Vidal was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame, "Expanded Category" (Managers & Trainers).
USA Boxing hands out annual trophies to the fighters who engaged in the "most exciting bout" of the year. Vidal was a longtime trainer in California.
