"Hard punching Jorge Ahumada of Argentina moved another step closer to a possible title fight with light heavyweight champion Bob Foster Monday night when he scored a 5th round TKO over game but outclassed Vern McIntosh of Miami, Fla. Ahumada was clearly in command throughout the bout against McIntosh who was taking a terrific pounding against the ropes when referee Petey Della halted the fight at 1:11 of the 5th round. Ahumada was unable to knock McIntosh down but he opened a cut over his opponent's eye toward the end of the 4th round. The Argentinian was unmarked." -United Press International
