"Jose (Toluco) Lopez, Mexico's bantamweight champion, avenged himself last night by winning a unanimous 10 round decision over Willie (Toothpick) Parker of Pittsburgh at the Olympic Auditorium. Lopez nearly stopped Parker in the 7th when he connected with a smashing right to the jaw. Parker staggered, but kept on his feet. Lopez continued to bang away with a flurry of rights to the head and lefts to the body. Parker fought back gamely, but it wasn't enough." -Associated Press
