Jose Becerra 118 lbs beat Alphonse Halimi 118 lbs by KO at 0:48 in round 9 of 15

"Jose Becerra climbed off the floor to score a spectacular one-punch knockout over Alphonse Halimi in the 9th round in the thrilling double-header in the Coliseum Thursday night. Becerra, down for a one-count in the 2nd, retained his bantamweight crown when Halimi was counted out 48 seconds into the 9th. Trailing on all three official scorecards and his face battered from Halimi's ripping left jabs that drew blood from the left eye, nose and mouth, Becerra came out for the 9th breathing fire. After a brief exchange in the center of the ring in which the heads of both fighters were snapped back from rocking blows, Halimi backed away to resume his attack from long range. But this time Becerra moved in to deliver a crushing left hook that landed flush on the face of the French-Algerian's chin and Halimi pitched forward to the canvas. Halimi didn't move until referee Tommy Hart had reached the count of five, and then only to roll over onto his back." -Long Beach Independent
