Jose Gonzalez 153 lbs beat Charley Scott 148 lbs by MD in round 10 of 10

"Jose Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, gunning for a rating among middleweight contenders, beat welterweight Charley Scott of Philadelphia Saturday night with a steam-shovel body attack for a majority 10 round decision in their 10 round fight at St. Nicholas Arena. It was an excellent fight between one of the ring's best body-punchers and a smart, hard-hitting boxer. There were no knockdowns, but each had his knees buckled twice - Scott in the 6th and 8th rounds and Gonzalez in the 5th and 7th. Jose wound up with a badly swollen right cheek bone." -United Press International
