"10th ranked middleweight Jose Gonzalez of Puerto Rico punched his way to a unanimous 10 round decision over Argentine knockout specialist Juan (Rocky) Rivero Saturday night in the nationally televised fight at MSG. Although Gonzalez dominated the fight almost all the way, it was only by a small margin in each round. Both men slammed each other time after time with heavy blows to the body and head, and often stood with their feet planted firmly on the canvas as they traded punches. There were no knockdowns but Gonzalez caught Rivero with a hard right to the mouth in the 7th and drew the only blood of the fight." -Associated Press
