"Henry Cooper of Britain, employing the experience gained in 16 years as a prizefighter, regained the European heavyweight title Tuesday night when he stopped Jose Urtain of Spain in the 9th round. Urtain's right eye was completely closed and there was a bad cut over his left eye. Referee Bernard Mascot of France had no hesitation in stopping the fight. Cooper was cut above the left eye and below the right eye as a result of headwork by Urtain, but his corner did a superb job between rounds. The 36 year old Cooper gave Urtain, 27, a boxing lesson and won all eight completed rounds." -United Press International
