  • "Carlos Hernandez is probably the hardest punching lightweight in the world. But since Cuba's Jose Napoles took Hernandez apart in the latter's own backyard - Caracas, Venezuela - the fight beat has been buzzing. Napoles didn't figure to beat the bombing Hernandez, but the muscular Cuban upset the forecasts. It was a classic example of how to fight a puncher. Napoles, however, made one mistake - he let the Venezuelan get punching space in the 4th, and down went Napoles. But the Cuban regained his feet and stalled until the end of the round. In the 5th, he took charge again, and punched Hernandez in the belly until his hands dropped. Then he went to work on his head. The referee wisely stopped the bout in the 7th round." -The Kingston Gleaner
