Research of contemporary newspaper sources has removed two defeats from Escobar's early record.

1) Fighter knocked out by Enrique Higgins on 12-Feb-1965 was actually one Guillermo Nieto, not Escobar.

2) Escobar and German Gastelbondo fought only once in 1967. The misinterpretation of the rules gave initially a split decision win for Gastelbondo, two weeks later corrected to a draw by a local commission. This has caused the fight being listed twice in some records.
