Kalle Sauerland was born as the son of Hall of Fame boxing promoter Wilfried Sauerland. He also has a brother named Nisse, who is also a sports promoter. In 1979, Sauerland's mother moved with the children to London, where they grew up and went to school. Sauerland studied business administration and marketing in London and initially worked in the sports rights agency International Management Group. Initially, he was active in football and supervised, among others, the Brazilian national football team. By the way, Sauerland himself went into boxing and later joined the company of his father Sauerland Event, a Berlin-based boxing stable and, in 2014, the largest German boxing event, as junior manager. He rebuilt the company, made it more international and medial, implemented new tournament ideas in special weight classes, and planned exclusive international fights in close association with television. Sauerland is now the ‘head of boxing’ for the World Boxing Super Series.
