A huge overhand right hand leveled Serrano as the bell rang to end Round 4. He went down face first, but was able to beat the count. He got up on very unstable legs and was allowed to continue as the referee told his corner "You have one minute." Serrano went to his corner, but there was no stool waiting for him as some in the corner argued to stop the fight while others wanted the fight to continue. Serrano stood for 30 seconds before finally being able to sit down and received very little attention. Mayfield came out in Round 5 and threw a barrage of power shots. Serrano, who was still wobbled, mostly looked to cover up. A flurry sent Serrano stumbling forward and caused the referee to step in and wave an end to the bout.
