Ken Buchanan beat Miguel Araujo by KO in round 1 of 10

"Former world lightweight champion Ken Buchanan knocked out Miguel Araujo in the 1st round recently in Copenhagen. It was in preparation for a European championship bout pitting Ken against Antonio Puddu, and it was a fight in which Buchanan looked good. Ken caught Miguel with a right hook which sent him toppling midway in the round. Araujo got to his feet but only to receive a body barrage by the Scotsman which sent him sliding down the ropes. Miguel told the referee he was hit below the belt, but the protest was ignored and the count was completed. Buchanan said afterwards he is ready for Puddu." -World Boxing, May 1974 issue
