"Kenny Lane, Muskegon, Mich., lightweight came off the canvas to outpoint Carlos Hernandez in a 10 round fight at MSG Saturday night and knock the Venezuelan right out of the title picture. Hernandez, who had a seven bout streak going, is the No. 1 contender for Carlos Ortiz' world lightweight title. But Saturday night he had a tough time all round. Referee Arthur Mercante warned him twice for low blows and once for hitting and holding.
