"Carlos Hernandez of Venezuela knocked out Kenny Lane of Muskegon, Mich., Monday night in the 2nd round of their lightweight fight in the Olympic Stadium before a crowd of 16,000. Hernandez reached with several left jabs to the head of Lane and followed this attack with a solid right to the chin sending the American southpaw to the canvas for the count of six in the 1st round. Before this round was over the Venezuelan knocked Lane down again for the count of eight. Hernandez finished his work during the 2nd round, employing a continuous attack with both hands. A hard right sent Lane to the canvas again at 1:02 and the fight was over." -Associated Press
