"Kenny Lane of Muskegon, Mich., rallied in the late rounds Tuesday night to gain a majority decision over Lahouri Godih of Algeria in a 10-round bout at Convention Hall. Southpaw Lane, the 5th-ranked lightweight, bombed Godih with a barrage of lefts to the head and body midway through the fight and pulled away in the late rounds. The unranked Godih scored early with a two-fisted attack to the body. The Algerian made a desperate bid in the final round, slashing Lane's left eye which was bleeding profusely at the bell." -United Press International
