"Relentless Davey Moore, the world's 1st ranked featherweight contender, won an easy unanimous decision over Kid Anahuac of Mexico, in their 10 round rematch Thursday night at the Olympic Auditorium. Moore, 129, stalked after Anahuac, 127, all the way and dropped him for a one-count in the 9th round with a right to the jaw. The win erased any doubt about Moore's disputed split decision victory over Anahuac in Tijuana, Mexico last July and apparently clinched a title shot for Moore against champion Hogan (Kid) Bassey." -United Press International
