Kid Farmer fought as a featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight. He reportedly had 178 career bouts, losing only five, having started his career with 48 fights without a defeat--according to the obituary in the Tacoma Daily News (Tacoma, WA, USA).

Farmer was given a life sentence in prison for a November 1904 robbery. However, in January 1905, after a shootout that mortally wounded his brother Harry, Harry confessed to the crime. Feinberg/Farmer died of tuberculosis Jan. 17, 1916 at his parents' home in Chicago.
