Name: Kid Romeo
Alias: Kid/Frank Rome
Birth Name: Frank Romo
Hometown: Oakland, California, USA
Birthplace: USA
Pro Boxer: Record

It appears that this boxer's true name was Frank Romo. In his early career, he was referred to as Kid Rome, Frank Rome or, most commonly, Kid Romeo. (This is not Ralph Romero of Bakersfield, California, who was sometimes billed as Kid Romero or "Kid Romeo" during his ~1919-28 career.)

However, this record might be a combination of two separate boxers: Kid Rome and Kid Romero. The pre-show & post-fight San Francisco Call newspaper articles--regarding his June 14, 1912 bout--referred to "Kid Rome," "Frank Rome" and "Kid Romeo." But a year later, both a Kid Rome and a Kid Romero were on that Oakland Wheelmen's Club show. (The day-of San Francisco Call mentioned that Kid Rome was Frank Rome. [1])

Later, after World War I, during his Arizona bouts, it appears that this boxer was referred to as Kid Romo or Young Romo, Frankie Romo, and rarely as Sailor Romo. (Again, this may be even a third boxer.) Sailor Romo of the United States Navy was stationed at San Francisco.

In 1919 Young Romo/Kid Romeo was referred to as the Mexican-American Border Champion.
