Walter Neusel 197 lbs beat King Levinsky 203 lbs by MD in round 10 of 10

"Walter Neusel of Germany stands out today as a dangerous contender for the heavyweight title. He emerged victorious over King Levinsky last night after a savage brawl in MSG. Although booed in the early rounds by anti-Nazi fans, Neusel got up from the floor in the 2nd round and came on to win the split decision and thunderous applause. Neusel won the 1st round, Levinsky the 2nd. He connected with a hard right to the chin and floored Neusel for the count of two. Levinsky had him groggy in the 3rd. Neusel recovered in the 4th and won that session. Neusel kept walking in during the 5th, 6th and 7th, but was met by a barrage of swings to head and body that lost him those rounds and had him floundering. Levinsky tired in the 8th and the German plugged him at long range. Neusel battered Levinsky about the ring in the two closing sessions and Levinsky was groggy at the bell." -United Press
