Klaus Stockmann (75 kg) of Kiel,Germany, went for a KO against Jack Johnson of Curacao (74,8 kg) but the elusive Muhammed Ali- inspired Johnson glided away from Stockmann's left hooks which after a while became very long. Johnson countered good,but danced through the rounds 2 and 3 without doing anything else. In the 4th Johnson had som hits, suddenly realizing that it was not enough to float like a butterfly. However this was only a flash, and Stockmann put up a good hard rally in the last 4 rounds. The drawn verdict seemed unfair to the crowd.
