Notes

  • O'Malley controlled moments in the fight with his jab, and working off his left hand with uppercuts and hooks. However, Dorin controlled the majority of the action as he came forward constantly and landed clean punches to the head.
  • In round 2, O'Malley was dropped into the ropes by a hook but it was not scored as a knockdown.
  • In round 8, O'Malley was cut over the left eye and suffering from grotesque swelling over the right eye.
  • At the close of round 9, O'Malley was hurt by a hook, and fell to the canvas as he tried to clinch Dorin. The referee picked up a count. Once the round ended, the referee Tony Orlando took a cue from New Jersey commissioner Larry Hazzard, and stopped the fight at 3:00. Orlando could be overhead telling O'Malley he had taken "too many punches."
