Amateur Career

Walsh won the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia, defeating Rishi Kanta Singh, David Browne, Jason Hastie en route to the Gold Medal.

In 2005, Walsh reached the quarter-finals of the ABA's, losing to Nick McDonald (16:2).
