• It was one of a number of social and recreation centers conducted by the Long Island Chapter, Knights of Columbus Social Services, Inc., free to working boys and young men on a non-sectarian basis.
• It conducted semi-monthly amateur boxing shows in the 1920s, and an annual championship tournament.
• It was open every night from 7 to 11 P.M., except Sundays and when amateur shows were held.
