Lothar Abend beat Kid Spider by KO in round 1 of 8

    • Lothar Abend is no longer just a clever amateur, wrote the German Box Sport 27. November 1967 after he had KO'd the Aruban Kid Spider in the first round. Featherweight Abend, from Kiel in Germany, hit the Dutch- based Spider with a right, followed up with a left to the body and a final right to the head. Time: 2:30. Abend is soon a full fledged pro, Box Sport wrote.

    Kid Spider should give up his career very soon, recommended Box Sport. He should under no circumstances mix with top boxers of the Lothar Abend kind.

    This was Spider Kid's last fight.
