"Lou Ambers' 10 round decision tonight over Fritzie Zivic was considered just another stepping stone toward his return bout with Tony Canzoneri, the lightweight champion. Ambers, Herkimer, N.Y., won a unanimous decision from Zivic of Pittsburgh. From the 1st round on Ambers carried the fight to Zivic. The only times the Pittsburgh fighter seemed superior was in the 4th and 9th rounds. In the 9th, Ambers was forced to summon all his ring know-how to pull out of the hole in which Zivic had placed him. Zivic caught Ambers with several stiff right handers to the head and drew blood from Ambers' face. But Ambers head cleared long enough for him to dance through the rest of the round and come back strong in the 10th." -United Press
