"Lou Brouillard, Worcester, Mass., who has worn the crown of the world's welterweight championship less than two months, has found Baby Joe Gans, Los Angeles, the same tough customer that other leading battlers have found him to be. Brouillard met Gans in a 10 round non-title bout last night and after trying his best for the entire route could get no better than a draw. The champion was on the offensive most of the way, but his constant pounding at Gans' mid-section brought him enough points to earn a draw. Almost every time Brouillard landed on his rival's body, Gans squared things by a counter to the chin. Twice in the 7th the champion backed Gans up to the ropes with body punches and he topped this off by driving through the 8th and 9th frames, but Gans always escaped without much damage and handed out a few stiff wallops in return."
