Handler almost promoted Ali-Frazier at Detroit in Sep 1970, backed by Chuck Davey, then commissioner. Handler, 64, died at Dertoit General Hospital Wednesday night after a heart attack. Handler while still in school and was the campus heavyweight champion at Michigan State, where he was graduated in 1931.
