"Lou Nova, Van Nuys, Calif., decisioned Chuck Crowell of Los Angeles last night in a 10 round battle of jabs and clinches. At no time during the bout was either fighter near a knockout. Nova, 204, clearly outpointed Crowell, 238, in the last four rounds, shooting hard lefts to his body. Crowell could do nothing better than jab with his left and hold on while the crowd hooted. Crowell looked best in the 2nd round when he pushed Nova into a corner with a smother of sharp rights and lefts. Nova was pushed to the canvas, but no knockdown was scored." -International News Service
