"Lou Nova, Oakland heavyweight, was awarded a TKO last night when Frank (The Great) Androff, Minnesota, doubled up and stopped fighting after being badly outclassed for three rounds. The fight was stopped after 2:15 of the 4th. Androff had taken the 1st round, then hung on while Nova clubbed him for the next two rounds." -United Press
- After this bout Nova left immediately for New York where he was to meet Gunnar Barlund in Madison Square Garden on October 3rd. Nova would be substituting for Bob Pastor who injured his leg while chopping wood.
