"Lee Oma added to recent successes in the east by winning a split decision victory over Lou Nova in 10 rounds here last night at Olympia Stadium. Largely because of a stabbing left hand, Oma piled up an early lead before he ran out of gas in the 7th round. At this point, Nova got in his best work and had Oma in trouble in the 8th. However, Oma rallied in the 9th and put on an excellent finish to take the 10th." -Associated Press
