"Lou Nova, the Los Angeles heavyweight, held a TKO over Pug Wilson of Gary, Ind,. today when the referee stepped in and stopped their 10-round bout in the 7th round last night. Nova, weighing 205, was unable to knock down the negro battler but the referee interceded when Wilson appeared unable to defend himself. Nova had been flaying the 196 pound Gary fighter for several rounds but could not bring him down. The Californian started slowly, losing the first round and suffering a deep cut under his left eye in the second. He found the range in the third and from there on had his opponent hanging on most of the time." -International News Service
